City Ship Aurora
Year 2040 - the world's population has reached a record high. Even though resources haven't become a problem yet, scientists around the globe fear extinction for the human race. These individuals began project "CS" in June 2040 - a project that was supposed to "heal" the crisis of overpopulation.
Year 2044 - the first prototype of the "CS" is launched. Aptly named "New Atlantis" the City Ship took flight and successfully orbited the Earth twice before ironically crashing back into the ocean.
Year 2046 - the CS has been redesigned to fix all the problems that caused the passenger filled New Atlantis to sink back into the depths of the ocean. The first ever successful City Ship is launched September 2046. As these new City Ships begin to fill the skies - slowly becoming a common sight, another group of scientists developed a new idea for the Earth's population problem.
A new Earth. Due to advances in science, the scientists soon find several planets that could be terraformed to accommodate Earth's needs. The Aurora is the first CS to head towards to new home. On their way to "New Earth", an unexpected supernova occurred, causing them to nearly loose the massive ship and have to change courses. This change of course leads them into a patch of uncharted space - and sadly into a one-sided wormhole. Once through, Aurora attempted to contact Earth but failed...
Three Days Later The same wormhole reopens, allowing a distress call to flow through from Earth. Even though the message is garbled and hard to listen to - the knowledge still reaches everyone's ears - Earth has been destroyed. The supernova they had felt and had pushed them off course, had actually been the first "attack" by a group that can officially be classed as an enemy. This group - known as "met-heads" - used to be people...not just humans either. They vary with race and origins, but they all have something in common - they hate everyone who isn't like them. But what is "like" them? The "met-heads" get their name from their original name...sort of, "bio-mechanical-organisms". This means that part of them is just like the rest of their race - flesh and blood...but they have been enhanced. Corrupted by power and electricity running through their veins, the group shuns all who don't want to "improve" their race. They declared that it was stopping evolution to not undergo the procedure.
Their hell-bound anger wasn't just from the fact that the Earth's many different highly intelligent species mostly refused to "follow evolution" - as they called it exactly one year after the procedure was invented. No - their anger was fueled by the people who saw them before they turned into a devastating cult-type group. Those who had undergone the procedure for medical purposes - a arm that was detached due to a machinery accident, a head injury that critically damaged the brain, cancer, a horrible accident that partially removed the skull - were never quite fit back into society. Even with the highly advanced technology of the bio-mechanics that were used to rebuild them, there was always something that gave away the fact that you were part "robo". With an eye, occasionally a "HUD" might appear - viewable to the outside world...and making the person look like a mindless robot. With an arm - it would be several times as stronger. With the brain, the person would be able to contact the other people with a mechanical brain without having to open their mouths - plus everyone accused them of just acting "differently". All these things made society force them into a lower class - stating that they were "robots with skin", "met-heads" (the term coined from the first violence outbreak of someone who had a metal brain...or "metal head"), "BMO's" (only used by those who weren't angry), and "robo freaks" were better suited for jobs that required their new skill set and were nothing better then a common robot with AI. This metaphobia sent the BMO's into a violent swirl of actions - refusing to be people's slaves just because they were part robotic - even though they preferred 'enhanced by mechanics'. [[The first word of the Proof phrase is Beyond]]The first was by a Mr. Elli. He had gone through a horrible accident that made a good portion of his body bio-mechanical, and he got teased for it...mainly since he was only 18. Chris Elli was the one that finally fought back - attacking a group that teased him about shorting out in the rain and that he needed to be 're-oiled' - but they used slightly different words. The outbreak of anger, plus his superior strength and thinking ability resulted in the groups death, causing the uprising of the BMO's. Going on public TV, he rallied all who were like him, and started the most violent uprising since...well ever. People started to get the procedure done on everything, just because they supported the BMO's. Within one year of the first prototype BMO, the group had built themselves their own version of a CS and left Earth, touring the universe to make themselves larger and more powerful. This was April 2045 - several months before the superior CS's were put into production and launched.
One Year Later...that's when they reappeared, ranks larger then ever, their CS [Polaris] heavily armed and ready. With their sharp minds, they decided to attempt to take out the Aurora on their way to Earth, setting off the supernova that pushed them off course and into the wormhole. They soon found themselves orbiting Earth...and basically emptied their weapons upon the Earth - but not before sending a message of "either join us or die". After waiting exactly one hour and getting exactly three new people from the entire Earth, they pushed the 'big red button' as they called it, and literally turned the Earth into rubble.
Now, the Aurora explores uncharted space, trying to survive and find a new Earth to call home. While, the Polaris seeks to destroy all who won't join.
